Another typographer that caught my eye is Luke Lucas...

Here is just a tiny snippit of type that he has created, and this face I think is particualrly relevant to my project because of its really simple and bold design, and also the fact that it has serifs. Although I am intrigued to know how the 'y' & 'p' would work when not placed together due to the way that they join...

Alex trochut

On the left is a typeface designed by Alex trochut who I have been researching extensively for this project as his use of type and illustration, similarly to Si Scott's but still totally unique is awesome. I thought this face may help me with the development of a font, as my partner I think would suit quite a bold typeface and the very precise lines in this give it an almost 3-Dimensional element which is something Sam mentioned on his questionnaire. Even so I think it is a really beautifully conceived and produced piece of typography...

Creating a typeface... alphabet soup

My partner Sam mentioned that he preferred uppercase, serif fonts, in black&white. Which led me straight away to baskerville as a classic and simple serif font, with some really nice uppercase letterforms. I have been experimenting with combining a bold baskerville face, with very simple faces to create different hybrids. However I have also looked at adding my own serifs and altering the letters by hand to see what they look like.

Baskerville bold and Baskerville bold italic are two of the fonts that I have looked at combining with others to create new letterforms.
