Lecture posters by Callin Mackintosh

A 3-dimensional poster by Callin Mackintosh designed to show the more interesting side of mathematics and promote a lecture regarding this. Although I don't exactly agree with it, the posters are really nicely designed and the use of the geometric forms is very clever implemented.

Candy coated universe packaging.

Bourbon packaging by candy coated universe for a distillery. I really love this packaging because of the effect the very subtle designs have on the transparent bottle and bourbon. The photos give the appearance that this is printed straight onto the bottle which looks really crisp.

Buddy Carr Skateboards...Antonio Carusone

Here is some really nice branding for Buddy Carr skateboards by Antonio Carusone, I like how complete a project this seemed with all the aspects of branding covered, from stationary to clothing and board design. Despite the colour schemes on the boards being very different and even the typefaces used etc, the branding remains very unique to the brand. I also think this has resonance with my 'good is...' project as my original idea was skateboarding.

Dale Magazine.

Here are some photos of Dale magazine, a cultural magazine developed for a college project and posted on behance. I have picked this out as a diverse example of design for print in the category of publishing & editorial. Love some of the spreads and I also like the fact that it has no fixed page boundaries, and it seems to change throughout sections, for example turning the spreads on their side and working in the opposite direction. There is also a lot of nice little marks, leading the eye around the page and acting as markers directing you to the correct sections etc.

More budich

More prints by Joshua Budich, again, the way the images are composed and so on I think gives the people in them an air of power and authority, the colours and the fact that they are iconic figures helps.

Joshua Budich

This is a series of prints by a graphic artist called Joshua Budich... in these prints he was looking at certain figures from music and popular culture, I think they are relevant to my concept of 'the feeling of invincibility' because they portray these people in a light that could almost make them appear superhuman (or better than everyone else)

And so it begins... year 2.
