Christmas card design.

Task 3 - Stock options & print finishing
Alexandra Mendes - In gold we trust
Stock choice, emboss

A christmas card design for Creneau International which makes use of a lot of special print finishing techniques to convey the message printed on the cover , "In gold we trust". Flawless gold foil stock with emboss cover, gold printing inside and a wax seal make for a really
interesting and professional finish.

Bracket 1 & 2

Task 3 - Stock options & print finishing
SILNT
Stock choice.

Two volumes of a magazine called Bracket by SILNT from Singapore. I picked these out because of the use of a newpaper like stock, probably around 45 gsm...

Anthon B Nilsen annual report

Task 3 - Stock options & print finishing
Anthon B Nilsen
Foil block & stock choice.

An annual report by Anthon B Nilsen for a company that operates in the field of property, education and recycling. Although the majority of the publication is fairly standard, with a clean mid weight stock for the pages. The front cover looks fairly heavy, probably a 180gsm textured paper with a really nice black foil block and at the end, the financial report is monochrome black printing onto a light yellow stock. I think it's really nice use of a lot of techniques which still create a professional finished product.

Wim Crouwel

Posters and design for an exhibition at the design museum by Wim Crouwel. I picked this out simply because of the use of shape and also the idea of 3 dimensions that are used in these designs. He has also used opacities and seperation layers to give the colour of the two overprinted sections instead of allowing a knockout. I particularly like the first poster in this post just because I feel that the shapes work well together and the composition of them amongst the rest of the information on the page works well.

'Impossibility' digital illustations

Digital illustrations from behance by an designer and illustrator called Francisco Andrian. Just an interesting look at the shapes that can be made with this idea of impossible perspective.

Lino cut shapes.

A look at some linocut examples of impossible shapes and how they are combined with a very illustrative style. Produced by an illustrator called Piotrek Chuchla...
