Process Journal

Process Journal
Process journal is a magazine published by process highlighting creative uses of print and designers use of print, presenting it in a manor that lets the print talk for itself. Really clean and beautifully printed and presented itself. This is I think one of the best examples of a published journal as they seem to get everything right. Details such as the cover image wrapping round to the back, which creates a space for all the information to be really neatly presented near the spine. This then provides a format that runs throughout the pages, with the information of each article sitting on the left.

Really simple and nicely presented catalogue of Ken Garland's work. Laid out in a way that showcases the works inside and has as little influence as possible. I particularly like the simplicity of the cover, it is obvious exactly what it is from first glance and there is no defining image used it is simply type, laid out as clearly as possible. Another possible avenue for my Typografie catalogue.

From what I gather this magazine has a really interesting half page cover, however this was the only image of the cover and it is not exactly clear. From this photo however it looks like they've developed a really nice logomark in a very simplistic style, applied to a bold colour. However the layouts are much more subdued and colour here comes in the form of page numbers and section titles on each page being printed in the yellow of the cover.

Yet another publication from Spin. This one for Kwadraat-bladen, making use of a bold colour palette, this time with a much simpler aesthetic throughout. Pages are less hectic and images seem to be placed to a much more rigid grid. Really like the cover imagery on this particular publication and I think the combination of the three colours for the cover works really nicely. These colours are then quite clearly used throughout the publication as background colours, which I think makes a nice link between cover and interior pages.
